52 Dachshunds of Melbourne is back!
The first-ever ‘52 Dachshunds of Melbourne’ playing card project was such a lovely success that we’re excited to announce a second edition! We’ll be celebrating another 52 of Melbourne’s cutest dachshunds, raising funds for Dachshund Rescue Australia, and creating another adorable deck of playing cards worth treasuring!
If accepted into the project you’ll be asked to pay a $100 participation fee, this includes -
Your dog’s photograph on 1 of the 52 playing cards.
$50 donated to Dachshund Rescue Australia on your behalf.
A professional photoshoot for one dachshund, you and your dog will have so much fun!
An optional design appointment is offered to those wishing to purchase images for their home.
$150 package credit as a thank you for participating.
A deck of beautiful photographic playing cards, featuring your dachshund and 51 Melbourne Dachshund friends.
Important additional information
If you are accepted you will hear back within 2 weeks. The photographer will call you for a consultation to design a fun photoshoot to tell your dachshund’s story, book a time and location.
Shoots take place at set outdoor locations, within Melbourne's inner suburbs. Pretty parks, the beach, and hopefully even a few iconic Melbourne landmarks will be included. The perfect spot will be chosen to reflect your dog(s) and lifestyle.
Shoots for one dog usually last between one hour and 90 minutes. Shoots for multiple dogs last for up to two hours. Most shoots will take place on weekdays. There will be a very limited number of Saturday morning shoots available, these will incur an additional charge of $100. This can be used as credit for those wishing to purchase images from their shoot.
All family members and pets who can travel are welcome to attend the shoot.
For multiple dachshunds (these cuties often travel in pairs) the participation fee is $100 per dog, as each dog will have its own playing card. Dogs from the same family will attend their shoot together and extra time will be allocated.
This is a great opportunity to have a professional photo shoot with your dachshund(s) and create some beautiful artwork for your home. You are welcome to discuss this with your photographer during your phone consultation. You will be offered the opportunity to book a design appointment in South Yarra or over zoom to purchase digital or printed images from the shoot, but you are by no means obligated to do so. The estimated completion date for this project is May 2023, subject to change. There will be two rounds of applications, each accepting 26 dachshunds. Round one is open and round two is scheduled for September but again subject to change.
The photographer and designer will choose which one of your dachshund’s images will be used for the cards. We want lots of variety and for the deck to look amazing as a photography collection.
Applications can only be made by an owner who is 18 years + (children from the family are welcome at the shoot).
Digital and printed products are not included in your registration fee.
Rescheduling is of course fine but a $50 charge applies to rebook an appointment canceled without 48 hours’ notice.
The playing card design is still being finalised and may differ from the sample images. Text may or may not be included.
