We're excited to announce '52 Dogs of Melbourne' following the success of '52 Dachshunds of Melbourne'! Join us in celebrating the wonderful diversity of Melbourne's beautiful dogs, while supporting Second Chance Animal Rescue, and creating an adorable deck of playing cards.
If selected, your $100 participation fee will include:
Your dog featured on one of 52 playing cards.
$50 donated to Second Chance Animal Rescue on your behalf.
A fun professional photoshoot experience for you and your dog.
An optional design appointment for those interested in purchasing images for their home.
$150 package credit as a thank you for participating.
Important additional information:
If your dog is selected, you will receive a response within two weeks. Upon securing your spot by paying the participation fee, the photographer will call you for a consultation to design a fun photoshoot to tell your dog’s story, book a time and location.
Photoshoots take place at set outdoor locations within Melbourne's inner suburbs. Scenic parks, beautiful beaches, and even iconic Melbourne landmarks will be included. We'll select the perfect spot that reflects your dog(s) and your lifestyle.
For those with multiple dogs, the participation fee is $100 per dog, as each dog will have their own individual playing card. Dogs from the same family will attend their photoshoot together, with extra time allocated.
Single dog shoots last between one hour and 90 minutes, while shoots involving multiple dogs may extend up to two hours. Most shoots will be scheduled on weekdays, and a limited number of Saturday morning slots will be available for an additional charge of $100, which can be used as credit for image purchases.
All family members are welcome to attend the shoot.
This is a great opportunity to have a professional photoshoot with your dog(s) and create stunning artwork for your home. You can discuss this with your photographer during your phone consultation. For those wishing to purchase digital or printed images from their shoot, there is the option of a design appointment in South Yarra or over Zoom. The estimated completion date for this project is May 2024 (subject to change). We have two rounds of applications, each accepting 26 dogs. Round one is currently open!
The photographer and designer will carefully select the image of your dog for the playing card, ensuring a captivating and diverse collection.
Applications can only be made by dog owners who are 18 years or older.
Digital and printed products are not included in the registration fee.
Printed images start at $120 and packages start at $1400.
A $50 fee will apply to reschedule an appointment without providing 48 hours' notice.
Playing cards will retail for $30.
Please note that the playing card design may differ from the sample images. 52 Dachshunds of Melbourne is shown for visual reference only.
We welcome all breeds and breed mixes to apply.

Due to the volume of applications in round 1, in round 2 you will only hear back if your dog is selected.
